Join MBPR for a dive into data privacy with our keynote speaker Claire Cucchi. Individuals have always been concerned about data privacy, and many countries around the world view data privacy as a fundamental human right. It’s why we keep important documents in a safe, put locks on file cabinets, and shred our personal documents. But what about the information we share online? How is that protected in a digital world?

In the webinar An Introduction to Data Privacy we will consider data privacy as we discuss its increased importance, the collection and sharing of data, and steps you can take to build and/or improve your data privacy program. We will also discuss the legal and contractual obligations surrounding data privacy and touch on the regulations on the horizon for 2023. This is a constantly evolving space, but we will arm you with best practices and key components to focus on and discuss utilizing data privacy as a value-add.

Claire Cucchi brings over 20 years of senior-level operations experience to Capstone, a leading content creator for digital solutions, children’s books, and literacy programs for school libraries, classrooms, and at-home reading. Before joining Capstone, where she currently serves as the company’s Data Privacy Administrator, Claire designed, implemented, and maintained the data privacy program for Buncee, a digital creation & communication tool for students, teachers, and administrators. There she ensured that Buncee maintained compliance with contractual obligations as well as federal, state, and international regulations. Claire continues to prioritize the protection of personal information by driving process change and privacy-driven policies, in addition to supporting practices that provide transparency, data minimization and limitation, and an individual’s right to control the use of their personal information. Claire studied International Business and Finance at American University in Washington, DC, and also served as a council member for the Eastern Suffolk BOCES School Library System.
